Flexible benefits
Flexible benefits allow group members to set aside money tax free to pay for medical expenses. This has the effect of reducing an employee's overall tax burden, while reducing the cost of personal health care. NBPA works with Discovery Benefits, Inc. to provide flexible benefits to groups. Members may also have the option of using a flexible benefits debit card, which is used in the same manner as a credit card.
Using flexible benefits, a company can provide tax-free payments for health insurance, medical expense reimbursement, dependent care reimbursement, disability insurance and long-term care insurance for the employee and his or her spouse and dependents.
Employers are also permitted to make contributions to medical savings accounts and provide a limited amount of group term life insurance as well as provide certain fringe benefits. These benefits will be tax-free to the employee. For more information on what NBPA can do for you, please contact us.
