Claims Administration
NBPA works with client-specific self-funded plans and fully insured products, administering medical, dental and vision plans in conformity with plan documents. Additionally, we administer short-term disability plans, life insurance benefits and stop-loss contract provisions within the contract's parameters. We also coordinate notification, filing and plan reimbursement activities, as well as activities with the employer, based on their specifications, as well as with the employer's payroll department. Our claims adjudicators perform research and investigations, coordination of benefits and subrogation recovery.
Customer Service
NBPA provides toll-free customer service lines, and incoming calls are answered by customer service representatives. If the representative does not have the answer to a question, they route the call to the appropriate department. Our entire staff is fully trained on plan benefits and claims administration.
Utilization Review and Case Management
Nurse professionals provide pre-certification, concurrent review, discharge planning and case management services.
Claims Repricing
Internal claims repricing services with specific preferred provider organizations (PPO) are available to speed the claims adjudication process without mail transition.
HIPAA Administration
NBPA will review new hires' certificates of coverage and provide notice to new hires of their status under their current plan.
COBRA Administration
When a person's employment is terminated, NBPA notifies them of their continuation of coverage rights with their termination notice. We also provide premium billing and collection services for the employer.
Reporting
To help employers keep track of their benefit plan, NBPA has a wide variety of reports and services, including customized benefit checks and explanation of benefits (EOB) forms. We provide check registers to coordinate funding with clients, monthly check registers for reconciliation and monthly claims reporting. Employers can also receive plan utilization reports, as well as customized reports. Additionally, we do IRS provider 1099 reporting and W-2 reporting for STD plans.
Collective Bargaining Agreement Administration
NBPA offers payroll and contribution receipts services, along with contribution allocations services.
Health and Welfare Administration
NBPA performs eligibility determination functions and participation enrollment. COBRA compliance and ERISA reporting are provided, as are premium billing and collection services.
Pension Plan and 401(k) Administration
To ensure smooth functioning of retirement plans, NBPA provides account reconciliation, benefit determinations, benefit distributions and accounting, and tax reporting functions.
Vacation and Holiday Benefit Administration
For proper management of paid time off benefits, we provide account reconciliation, check distribution and tax reporting functions.
Financial Services
To provide clients with a total finance management program, NBPA services include general ledger reporting, bank and trust account reconciliation, annual reporting and tax filing. We also support auditing functions.
